The Toolbox Murders

It was described as one of Queensland’s most despicable double murders and an act of unspeakable evil of the worst kind. In January of 2016, Cory Breton and Iuliana Triscaru went missing. A week later, police divers found their bodies decomposing inside a lockbox in Scrubby Creek, Gympie. They had been bound, tortured, and left to drown in a watery grave. What followed was 8 years of investigations, court trials, appeals, and acquittals that continue to this day.
